Jelena Jankovic: A Great Experience Saturday, 14 February 2009 at 18:21 After her loss against Amelie Mauresmo in the 17th Open GDF SUEZ, Serbia's Jelena Jankovic, the third player in the world, took time to answer our questions about the match and the lessons she learnt in the tournament. There were some big tough rallies but that was not enough... Yes, it was definitely tough, mostly because her game is quite different from the average player as she uses slice a lot and she kind of absorbs the speed you can give to the ball. I tried to hit hard and be aggressive but she kept using that slice and changing the pace, which slowed my own game down a little bit. I found myself stuck in the middle of the court sometimes, or making mistakes, like I did in the third set a lot. In the second set I was fine, I was playing aggressively enough and I had all the momentum behind me. But in the last set, I didn't do enough on court and I let go of the few very close games we had at the beginning. Today was not my day, she was obviously better, she deserved to win. Yes, it was a crucial moment, and there were a few close calls that can't be challenged here, unfortunately. The outcome didn't go my way and that allowed her to take the lead, to assume leadership of the match and after that it was too tough for me to come back. I was still in the match, of course, but I just didn't do what I was supposed to do. 那很关键，有些很接近的判决但是不幸没得挑战。结果不是我想要的而她取得 领先，之後对我太难回来。我还在比赛中，但是我没做到该做的。 (虽然有些关键判决对JJ不利 现场还有汽笛 小鼓伺候 滚网球JJ也运气不好 不过JJ输了之後握手还是微笑恭喜 Momo Momo也拍拍JJ) You seemed to struggle a lot with your first serve, which made it hard for you to close your serve games... Yes, my serve isn't working too well at the moment and it's definitely something I need to improve because I can do a lot of damage with my groundstrokes but if my serve is weak, that sort of cancels the advantage I could take. Hard work on my serve should make my life easier. 发球练好点 生活更轻松 After all those three-set matches, how did you feel physically? I felt very sore, I can tell you! Especially at practice and before the match, as I was warming up. But as soon as I started playing and competing, I forgot about what was hurting and what was feeling tight, I was just fine. 打太多三盘身体会很酸痛。不过上场就没感觉。 Your game here at the Open GDF SUEZ is still an improvement over how you played in Australia, right? Yes, it's a major step forward compared to Autralia. I'm moving a lot better than there, which is a great satisfaction, a very positive thing. I came here mostly to get to play top level matches and I got matches against some of the top players in the world in tight matches, which did a lot to improve my game and my confidence as well. Match after match, I'm sure things will keep getting better and better for me, starting with the next tournament. So this tournament has been a great experience for me because of all that. 比澳网打得好，这点还不错。到这主要是要比赛感觉和打高张力比赛。信心也有 进步。所以这锦标赛是很好的经验。 (再稳定点 不要一直起伏不定就好了 昨天看来状态来是比澳网好 只是在场上还是会睡睡去.....然後就回不来啦) --
