Djokovic jumped out to a quick start in the second set by breaking in the opening game with a forehand winner off a Ferrer drop shot. Ferrer broke a streak of losing seven straight games by holding in the third game. Ferrer, appearing in his first Grand Slam semifinal, then broke Djokovic in the next game to level the set at 2-2. In the seventh game, Ferrer let a 40-0 lead slip away and was broken when he hit a forehand long, slamming his racket to the ground. Djokovic then held his next two service games to win the set 6-4. In the third set, Djokovic broke in the third game and that proved to be the difference as he held in his last three service games, never facing break point. He closed out out the match by breaking in the ninth game with a backhand drop shot winner. Djokovic converted six of 11 break points in the two hour and 12-minute match while Ferrer was two of three on break points. Djokovic won 63 percent of second serve points won while Ferrer managed just 38 percent. I've played him already five times, so it's not like it's totally new, you know, for all of us.
