The world number 16, who was as high as seventh before a number of injury problems blighted his progress, is the latest big name to pull out of the tournament, with Martina Hingis withdrawing from the women's event yesterday. Nicholas Kiefer and Paradorn Srichaphan are also out of the men's event while Andy Murray is expected to join them on the sidelines as he continues to struggle from the wrist injury he picked up in Hamburg. Ancic has not played since February, but while disappointed he is missing the trip to Paris, where he made the quarter-finals last year, he is optimistic he will be back in action soon. "I am obviously disappointed to miss the French Open. The grand slams are the big tournaments we aim to do well in," he said. "Having said that, on a more positive note, I had tests done earlier this week and everything came back 100% clean. "The doctors have given me the green light to start training and practising again. I obviously will be very cautious and not rush back, but I am looking forward to getting back on the court." --
