标题[翻译] Endless Space Wiki: Factions part2

这边介绍Craver(虫族)、Harmony(调和者)、Hissho(赫斯欧)三个种族
翻译到这边,开始出现FreeCol不会有的翻译问题了:
有些虚拟世界创出来的专有名词,现实世界找不到对应的翻译,必须要自己想
然後就会烦恼到底要直接音译辗过去,本义什麽鬼的管他去死
还是要绞尽脑汁想个既符合本身意思又不错听的译名(个人偏好这点)
Automaton翻译成自动机、Craver翻译成虫族就是为了符合後者
(英特卫直接把Craver翻译成渴求者,我觉得很烂......)
Hissho直接音译为赫斯欧,则是实在不知道要怎麽翻译只好直接音译了

三、Cravers 虫族
(译注:英特卫说明书翻译为「渴求者」,但我觉得这个翻译很烂)
The Cravers are one of the playable factions in Endless Space. Part machine,
part-insect, their hive has only one goal: to consume.
虫族是Endless Space中其中一支可选派系。这些半机器半昆虫的生命体只有一个目的:

Origins 起源
The Cravers were created by the Virtual Endless to use as a weapon against
the Concrete Endless. They would swarm the enemy and use any available
resources to feed the hive, replenishing their numbers and strength.
虫族被Virtual Endless作为对抗Concrete Endless的武器而创造出来,他们会朝敌人蜂

Before long, the Virtuals realized the threat this new race posed to the
galaxy, so they marooned them onto an isolated planet and then bombed the
surface in an attempt to eliminate them.

However, the war with the Concrete eliminated the Virtuals before the
Virtuals were able to eliminate the Cravers. The insectoid race rebuilt its
"civilization" and eventually learned to become a space faring race. The
hive, at long last, could begin truly feeding.

Society 社会
The Cravers live in a colony, a superorganism. Somewhat like the ants and
bees of Earth, they are biologically divided into different subtypes. The
lowest ranks are not capable of independent thought: that is reserved for
higher subtypes like the "Bishop" level. To a certain degree, the Cravers
rely on pheromones to communicate. Reproduction is accomplished through not
one, but multiple queens.
虫族们有点像是地球上的蚂蚁和蜜蜂,他们形成一个群体、一个超级有机体,并会分成不
同的生物分层。最低等的阶层无法独立思考,只有像「主教」这种较高阶层才有独立思考

The society has no idea of peace. The concepts of diplomacy, peace, or mercy
mean nothing to them. They only know war. The other races are merely prey.
Prey that can fight back, but prey nonetheless. As a matter of fact, should
the Cravers cease expanding, they will deplete whatever resources they
control, and the society might consume itself.

Notes 注意事项
A player using Cravers should be focused exclusively on expansion. No heed
should be paid to other empires, as they cannot be allied with anyways. Early
game, LP bonuses can provide more than sufficient Industry to steadily pump
out colony ships and military ships. To get the most out of the bonus period
for each planet, focus on food and perform in-system colonization only when
already colonized planets are population capped. Mid game might slow the
Cravers down somewhat in terms of production, as planets begin to get
depleted quicker than fresh planets can be claimed. Despite this, however, a
Craver should be actively looking for fleets to attack for Science, and
Systems to invade for FIDS in general. By the time late game roles around,
Cravers have the most impressive fleets, on par with the Hissho, thanks to a
unique research option that gives them massive CP caps on their empire. At
this point, economy will have slowed to a crawl on most systems, though
determined assaults on enemy systems can win through simple attrition.
一个使用虫族的玩家应该全力扩张,完全不用管其他帝国,因为他们永远不可能成为同盟
。游戏初期的LP加成能提供充足的工业产能以不断大量生产殖民船和军事船舰。为了在每

四、Harmony 调和者
The Harmony is a playable faction in Endless Space: Disharmony, the first
expansion pack for Endless Space.They are conscious crystalline entities who
seek to eradicate Dust, which they view as a corrupting plague, from the
galaxy in order to resume their search for the universe's "Core".
调和者是Endless Space的第一个扩充包.《Endless Space: Disharmony》中其中一支可

The Harmony consists essentially of conscious crystalline mineral structures.
There are several characteristics that differentiate the Harmony from other
forms of life:

It is possible that they pre-date the Endless. However, as they live in the
voids between stars there has been little organized study of the species.

As they are mineral, it is difficult to categorize them in terms of
traditional definitions of "life." It should be said, however, that they

They are largely indifferent to other life forms, as they do not compete for

Their goal and purpose, as nearly as we can tell, seems to be religious.

What little communication has been done with them seems to indicate that they
are seeking the "Core" of the universe; a place where the great resonating
frequencies of stars, planets, matter, and energy chime in an apparently
perfect harmony.

Discovery 发现
The Endless discovered the Harmony long ago, at a time when they had only
just begun to explore the universe beyond their homeworld, Tor. An Endless
miner named Rheuaril Beih encountered an unknown mineral on a distant world.
A series of tests turned up a most unexpected result when the mineral reacted
to stimuli, consumed energy, and altered its shape. Beih thus went down in
history as the first Endless to discover an alien life form.

Further study of the mineral led to discoveries of similar minerals on other
worlds, revealing an entire species which came to be known as the Harmony. A
fundamental creature born of the energies of the Big Bang, the living rocks
of the Harmony were capable of manipulating quantum energies and gravitation.
The Harmony spread itself at widely varying speeds across the stars using
space-time anomalies, gravitons or even interplanetary transport networks.
Little direct knowledge was gained due to the near impossibility of
communication, but study of the Harmony led to leaps in the Endless's ability
to manipulate gravity and time-space.

Disharmony 不协调
The Harmony had been moving since the birth of the universe, passing through
the galaxies, seeking the Core. Their migration was deliberate, calm,
inevitable. Dust was their downfall. In the galaxy of the Endless they were
ensnared; this strange technological creation that affected particles, fields
and waves broke the single movement of the Harmony into a cacophony of
gravity-enchained individuals. The Harmony sees Dust as a menace or a plague,
and has set out to rid the universe of its effects.

For the rest of the galaxy, this cleansing is a minor apocalypse. The
Harmony, creatures of mineral, see no difference between "inhabited" and
"uninhabited" planets -- they are simply "infected" or "clean." And those
that are infected will be dealt with ruthlessly. Thus began the Era of
Disharmony.

The Harmony affinity is more complex than the in-game text description
implies:

retrofit ships, trade Dust, or receive Dust from Trade Routes, Random Events,
or Exploration Events.

It appears the "up to 2x max CP" is for the FIS bonus, not the number of

In addition, the Harmony have the following gameplay modifications that are

For the first expansion for Endless Space, Amplitude let the community vote
on three potential new factions which would form the expansion's focus. The
Harmony won the vote, defeating the Dust Collective and Virus factions,

The Hissho are one of the playable factions in Endless Space. A warrior race,
they value honorable conflict over peaceful cooperation.
赫斯欧是Endless Space中其中一支可选派系。作为一支战士种族,它们重视荣耀的战斗

Origins 起源
The evolution of the Hissho is not entirely clear. The Hissho themselves hold
that they evolved from avian creatures, independently of a higher alien race.
However, there are some vague indications that the Endless at the very least
tampered with their evolutionary path for their own amusement.
关於赫斯欧的演化并不十分清楚。赫斯欧自己认为他们从鸟类生物演化而来,并独自演化

For much of their history, the Hissho lived as tribal hunters. Their constant
warfare slowed their technological progress and path to civilization, but

The Hissho are ruled by a monarch, but they are equally ruled by tradition.

Sacrifice is an integral part of the social fabric, with a cultural emphasis
