Wilson could return Sunday; Sanchez improving DENVER -- Giants closer Brian Wilson was scheduled to play catch Saturday and could be activated as early as Sunday, manager Bruce Bochy said. "After he throws, we'll see what the next move is," Bochy said. "It's a possibility we could activate him. It could be [Sunday]." Wilson, who hasn't pitched since Aug. 15, has twice thrown to live hitters in the past week, and Bochy has said the closer wants to return to the mound this season to have "peace of mind" heading into the winter. The same can be said for left-hander Jonathan Sanchez, who is progressing well in his rehab from a left ankle sprain and could throw off the mound Monday or Tuesday, according to Bochy. The Giants' skipper said "there's a chance" that Sanchez could return to pitch "an inning or so" before the end of the season.
