DENVER -- Giants managing general partner and chief executive officer Bill Neukom said his trip to Coors Field this weekend was planned before Thursday's announcement that he would be retiring at the end of the season. So, for Neukom, it was business as usual on Friday, as he watched the team take batting practice, chatted with players and greeted San Francisco fans in the Coors Field bleachers. Neukom said he will continue to enjoy those activities next season, when he will serve as chairman emeritus. "I'll have a chance to do some of that, and I'm looking forward to that," Neukom said of interacting with players. "I was saying to [Mark] De Rosa, it's amazing to me how much there is to learn about this game. The more you see it, the closer you can get to it, the more you have to respect it." Neukom said continuing to learn about the game has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his tenure as an executive. "There are so many moving parts, so many variables," he said. Neukom：「 Nuekom said coming to Coors Field brings back good memories, as he was here when Matt Cain nearly threw a no-hitter to complete a series win over the Rockies last September, helping to propel the Giants on their storybook World Series run. "Cain threw one of the best games I've ever seen," Neukom said. "That was effectively the elimination of the Rockies, and then it was just us and the Padres.
