04/06/2006 12:48 AM ET Morris a winner in Giants debut By Rich Draper / MLB.com SAN DIEGO -- Giants pitcher Matt Morris (1-0) kept a tight lid on the San Diego offense, allowing only a solo homer by Adrian Gonzalez in the seventh as San Francisco toppled the Padres, 3-1, on Wednesday night at PETCO Park. San Diego had the bases loaded and two out in the seventh, but Giants reliever Scott Munter struck out pinch-batter Mark Bellhorn to end the threat. Tim Worrell earned his first save. San Francisco scored three times in the sixth as losing pitcher Shawn Estes (0-1) gave up three hits and three walks, the Giants scoring on a bases-loaded infield hit by Moises Alou, a walk to Lance Niekro and a double-play grounder.
