History lesson: Rockets look for another turnaround
In each of the past two weeks, the Rockets had a chance to do something they
have rarely done since the regular season began. They practiced.

On consecutive days this week and last, they went to the Toyota Center
practice court and went to work. Coaches coached. They got better.

While many panicked and screamed about how idiotic is the coach with 752 wins
before this season (you know who you are), Rick Adelman and the Rockets did
what they are supposed to do. They worked. They tried to get better.

They have a long way to go, but if you've been paying attention, you've seen
the change over the past two weeks, well before they beat the lowly Grizzlies

when a team changes coaches, and for that matter, when this team changes
coaches.

The Rockets have a long way to go to get to 50 wins. A two-game winning
streak does not change much. They remain several games out of the Western
Conference's top eight with the going to get tougher quickly with the next
three games against the Warriors and at Boston and Orlando.

Yet somehow, after all these months in which everything that happened last
season was discounted because of what failed to happen in the post-season,
suddenly November and December have been treated as apocalyptic.

The Rockets must improve tremendously to be good enough to make noise in the
postseason, but at least, finally, they are improving. If they improve at the
same pace the rest of the way, or at least often enough, as they have lately,
they might be something after all.
火箭必须快点进步，才有办法在季後赛弄些搞头。不过，至少火箭的确是在进步当中。

Before the deluge of calls to trade McGrady citing Saturday's glorious win
begin rolling in, there is a question that must be answered.

3-pointers?

The answer to both questions is the same.

This was a good win, well earned. The Rockets made up for their 39.5 percent
shooting with excellent defense, strong 3-point shooting and the good fortune
of the Raptors missing shots and free throws they normally make.

一样糟糕的命中率和罚球，弥补了自己偏低的命中率（39.5%）。
This is not the best the Rockets can be.

It is another sign of progress.

The Rockets are of course a better team with McGrady than without. They moved
to 13-42 in games he has missed, winning consecutive games without him for
the third time. They have never won three-consecutive games without him. But
assuming this is not the last time he will be forced to miss games, it is
good that they have finally demonstrated to themselves that they can win
without him.
有T-mac的火箭当然比没有还要更好。火箭在T-mac缺席的比赛中，战绩来到13-42，第三次
在没有T-mac的情况下取得二连胜，目前还没有拿过三连胜。但假如这不是最後一次T-mac
缺赛，火箭已经证明他们可以没有T-mac而取得胜利，这很好。
If he joins a team better than the one he left, there is nothing wrong with
that.
如果T-mac在的时候比缺席时还要更好，这没什麽问题啦～
