1) Tim Wakefield 从伤兵名单复出，首战面对洋基投出5局失3分，
终结过去对洋基五连败，上一次胜投是 2006/5/11，地点也是在 Yankee Stadium。
Wakefield 在红袜胜败总计304场，追平 Cy Young 所保持的红袜队史纪录。
Lou Cucuzza 还给了 Wakefield 一些球场的土留作纪念

2) 菜鸟 Justin Masterson 对 A-Rod 投了两颗 Sinker，接着是满场 55,058 人的嘘声
