A lot of people ask me about all of the clutch hits I had in 2004, but let me tell you: It was a lot more than me. In baseball, it takes a lot of people to win a game. It’s like I said before. You have to pitch, you have to hit, you have to play defense. If you don’t do any one of those things right, you can lose the game. We had a lot of people do a lot of things right when we started to play better against the Yankees. The Yankees still led the series, three games to one, but Game 4 gave us some of our confidence back. We got some momentum. In Game 6, Mark Bellhorn hit a big three-run homer against Jon Lieber, who shut us down in Game 2, and (Curt) Schilling came back to pitch on a bad ankle and shut down the Yankees. On the next night, in Game 7, I hit a two-run homer in the first and we scored four more runs in the second. The Yankees never really had a chance.
