It's being said that he has 5 serious offers on the table, one of them from the Raptors. - I don't think he should join any franchise that doesn't count him as an important piece of its future and honestly, I don't think it will happen. I'm talking about minutes here, from the start. We all know everybody has to earn its own place in the rotation, but the circumstances in every team are different. That's probably what happened last year when he declined Milwaukee's offer. Now he's the best PG in Europe besides Jasikevicius, and he has offers not only from two powerhouses in Europe like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, but also from a handful of NBA teams, so he won't go there to start being a third stringer or playing 15 minutes a night. Just think about Nocioni and now Macijauskas, both teammates of Calderon in TAU Ceramica. If the Raptors are going to keep Rafer and sign Roko this year, I don't see him there. So if I were you and saw Calderon's signing next Friday, I would count on him having a good amount of minutes next season and either Rafer leaving the team or Ukic staying in Europe one more year. Just my bet and my two cents on that matter. - Calderon vs Ukic. Calderon is more NBA ready than Ukic, and is a safe bet. He has an NBA body and athleticism, the right mentality to do what the coach asks from him and, above all, the will to win. While Calderon could be a more than solid NBA starter in a not-too-far future, Ukic may (and does) have the tools to become a great player in terms of hability and PG fundamentals, but he could also very well end up being another Eurobust (I won't put that label on Milicic yet, but think about Tskitishvili, to say one name) if he doesn't mature the way he should, play more under control, add some pounds and show the desire to succeed and reach the highest goals on the court. Anyway, despite our Croatian friend confirming that Roko is not a SG and doesn't perform at his best there, I can see a pair of Ukic and Calderon in the backcourt at the same time because they compliment each other's game so well and have the physical tools to play both spots. I would like to know which are the other teams pursuing Calderon.
