Columnist Kevin Sherrington answered questions in a chat Wednesday. Here are some highlights. Kevin Sherrington先生听到JD说我们要省点钱後忍不住跳出来说话了 Question: Texas needs power in left field and an upgrade at first and DH. They have shelled out some prospects in recent years. Are there any players on the farm that can help next year or perhaps 2015? They don't act like they will spend much in free agency. Q:我们的1B/LF洞颇大，近几年我们也快把农场烧乾净了，我们的农场还有谁能拉上来 填补1B/LF的缺? (如果为了省钱不签FA来补洞的话) Kevin Sherrington: The best power prospect in the organization is Joey Gallo, and he's probably two to three years away, even if he stays on course. Tremendous power potential, but a big swing. Not making enough contact otherwise. The Rangers' best position player prospects are all at the lower levels of the organization. I was surprised when Daniels said the payroll would be less. The club is only a year away from its big Fox TV contract. They're close to being a really good team. If they re-sign Cruz to play LF, then find a DH or first baseman and either re-sign Pierzynski or maybe McCann, they could be pretty good offensively. Pitching is already good. You'd hate to seem them this close and haggle over a contract. They don't have a lot of bad contracts. Kinsler's is probably the worst, and it's not that bad. Question: With all the recent rumors about the Rangers being a good trade partner to get Price, do you see them parting with the pieces it would take to get him? Q:听说我们要搞个大买卖弄来David Price，力宏哩公跨卖 Kevin Sherrington: Price would be a great addition, but I'm not sure the Rangers can afford to give up those pieces when they have so many questions among position players. The problem with this team was hitting, not pitching. If Harrison comes back healthy, which I think he will, it's a pretty good rotation. Also young and fairly cheap. That's a great combination. Kevin Sherrington: I'm not sure Ellsbury is that kind of bat. The 32 homers a couple of years ago was apparently a career year. Stanton would be a tremendous addition, and well worth a deal with Profar fronting it. Bautista would be a great addition, too, but also a gamble. He's older and hurt a lot these days. A great presence in the lineup, though.
