I thought the same thing. I can see how Nolan wanted to get more out of his starters and make them go deeper into games to save the bullpen but you also have to preserve your starters as well so they can last the season. I have a feeling that one reason Feldman is struggling is because he's been pushed to pitch too many innings too soon in the season. Some starters are strong and durable. Some have to be handled with care so you don't tire out their arms.
