标题[外电] Sosa works out for Rangers

ARLINGTON --
The Rangers worked out free agent outfielder Sammy Sosa on
Monday at Ameriquest Field in Arlington.
Sosa also met with general manager Jon Daniels over dinner Monday night.
Sosa did not play in the Major Leagues in 2006 but hit .221 with 14 home runs
and 45 RBIs in 102 games for the Baltimore Orioles in 2005.
A seven-time All-Star, Sosa has 588 career home runs, fifth most in Major
League history, and was the 1998 National League's Most Valuable Player while
playing for the Chicago Cubs.
The Rangers are looking for a right-handed hitting designated
hitter/outfielder and Sosa has said he wants to play again in 2007. He began
his Major League career with the Rangers in 1989 before being traded to the
Chicago White Sox.
