Abstract of the Talk: Nova-Volume
Nova-volume is a service that allows you to provide extra block-level storage to your OpenStack Compute instances (virtual machine). It provides something like Amazon Elastic Block Storage (EBS) service, and is basically an iSCSI solution that uses Logical Volume Manager (LVM) of Linux. This talk will cover the role of nova-volume in OpenStack, the service provided by nova-volume, and the enhancement we can do on nova-volume.
Nova volume 是一个可以提供 OpenStack 虚拟主机额外的 block device 储存服务。它提供类似亚马逊 EBS 的储存服务,基本上以 iSCSI 搭配 LVM 在 Linux 下运作。此 talk 会介绍 nova-volume 在 OpenStack 所扮演的角色、nova-volume 提供的服务,以及如何改进 nova-volume。
About the Speaker: Chia-Feng Kang
Chia-Feng is a software engineer for cloud computing in ITRI. He works on cloud computing for more than 3 years and on OpenStack for 1 year. His primary interest is in distributed storage system and high availability for cloud computing.
Chia-Feng 是一位工研院的云端运算软体工程师。他接触 OpenStack 已有一年的时间,并在云端运算领域工作了三年以上。他主要的兴趣在於云端运算中的分散式储存系统与服务的高可用性。
Abstract of the Talk: GNU Radio
Software-defined radio(SDR) has been emerging for many years in various fields, including military, commercial communication systems, and scientific research, e.g. space exploration. GNU Radio is an open source SDR framework written in Python. This talk will introduce from basic concept of software-defined radio and various front-end hardware, and then illustrate how to use Python to develop software for software-defined radio.
多年来软体无线电一直在军事、商业通讯系统以及科学研究上有热门的发展。GNU Radio 是一个以 Python 写成提供软体无线电的发展套件。这个演讲会从软体无线电的基本概念开始,并介绍软体无线电所需要的硬体,最後介绍如何用 Python 来协助发展软体无线电的软体。
About the Speaker: Albert Chun-Chieh Huang 黄俊杰
He is both a programmer and a communication engineer. He learned Python in 2000 and has used it extensively on improving his workflow ever since. He has been working in communication IC industry for more than eight years. His interests include communication engineering and engineering communication, which consists of fields from physical layer to MAC layer as well as typesetting.
讲者是一名程式设计师与通讯系统工程师。从 2000 开始使用 Python 至今,并在那之後, 大量把 Python 应用在提升工作效能上。他在 通讯晶片产业担任 DSP programmer 八年以上。他的兴趣是通讯工程与工程通讯,涉猎 很广泛,从基频、MAC layer 到排版都有兴趣。
