USP30-NF25: <1151> PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORMS
Extended-release tablets are formulated in such manner as to make the contained
medicament available over an extended period of time following ingestion.
Expressions such as “prolonged-action,” “repeat-action,” and
“sustained-release” have also been used to describe such dosage forms.
However, the term “extended-release” is used for Pharmacopeial purposes, and
requirements for Drug release typically are specified in the individual
monographs.
美国药典30-国家处方集25版: <1151>章节 药剂形式 大意是说
缓释锭剂被制成在摄取後，药物随着延长时间释放样式。换句话说就是在你的肠胃道里
持续或是延长释放(相对於速放剂型)。
1.延长释放(prolonged-action)
2.重复释放(repeat-action)
3.持续释放(sustained-release)
之表达方式也被用於描述缓释剂型(Extended-release dosage form)
“Extended-release”是用於药典之叙述如说明药品为缓释剂型，或是药品释放(溶离
试验)章节。简单的说在药典内关於缓释剂型你会看到“Extended-release”

Sustained release (or extended-release) formulations create a steady drug
release profile making the drug substance available over an extended period of
time following ingestion.
Advantages of sustained release formulations include :
Uniform release of drug substance over time
Reduction in frequency of intakes
Reduced adverse side effects
Better patient compliance
持续/缓释剂型设计成能稳定释放药物之模式，使药物在摄取後能长时间被吸收。
持续释放之好处为:
1. 随着时间能均一释放药物(相对於速放在於短时间释放大量药物)
2. 减少服药频率 (如一天两颗变成一天一颗)
3. 减少副作用
4. 较佳的之病人顺从性
