标题[问题] TOC是什麽??

各位版友大家好
请问 TOC 是什麽呢？
我的指导教授要我论文初稿完成时要使用TOC。她说
send me the full draft as one single Word document with a hotlinked
table of contents that enables the reader to jump from TOC to specific
sections (this is a TOC-generation function in Word that is easy to use).
她现在在旅行，没办法问她
所以有没有人可以告诉我中文名称是什麽呢？或是要如何使用这个东西呢？
(虽然她说很简单，可是我还是不知道TOC是什麽…>"<)
