Mon Dec 30 04:48:44 2013
http://tinyurl.com/kjef3wd
What's your field?
What are the roles of conferences vs journals?
What's the paper submission / review process?
What are the most prestigious publication venues?
How much has a typical, freshly-graduated PhD published?
Are most new professors hired directly after graduation,
or after (a) post-doc(s)?
Where does the money come from?
What happens at conferences?
In multi-author papers, how is author order decided?
What's your field?
What are the roles of conferences vs journals?
What's the paper submission / review process?
What are the most prestigious publication venues?
IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR)
International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV)
European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV)
Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS)
(This is really a machine learning venue, but there's a lot of overlap.)
ACM Special Interest Group on Graphics (SIGGRAPH)
(Really graphics, but overlap. And I think this is technically the name of the organization, not the conference, but I don't even remember the name of the conference.)
International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV)
Transcations on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (PAMI)
How much has a typical, freshly-graduated PhD published?
Are most new professors hired directly after graduation,
or after (a) post-doc(s)?
Where does the money come from?
What happens at conferences?
In multi-author papers, how is author order decided?
