Penny Hardaway Q&A
Knicks In The Paint sat down with new acquisition Penny Hardaway this week to
get some answers to the fan questions you sent in. Here are some of the
questions and answers:
尼克官网 In The Paint 这星期是Penny的 Q & A
Q:From [email protected]:
As a former All-NBA team member, how does it feel to be in New York, with
the spotlight on you again, but this time as a key bench/role player and
legitimate Sixth Man of the year contender?
A:I don't know about Sixth Man of the Year, but my goal is to contribute,
kind of restart my career and help the Knicks win. There is no greater
stage to play on.
Q:From [email protected]:
hi penny, Ive been a fan of yours probably since i was in third grade and
you where still in orlando and it got me thinking. Do you think you have
grown as a player since then? Some people say that you don't play the way
you used to back in 1995, do you think you have progressed in a positive
way or a negative way? Anyway, keep it up Penny your the best! Always where
always will be, you're an NBA legend in my book. - Marko
─ Marko
A:Thanks Marko. Careers always take different turns and my time in Orlando
was great. Right now I am very excited and eager to be in New York and
getting back to being the old Penny on the court.
A:谢谢你。
Q:From [email protected]:
Penny I am from Memphis just like yourself and ended up moving to a cold
city (Detroit, Mi). How are you going to handle the cold winters in the Big
Apple?
A:Dress warmly! The great thing is that new York is such a special place and
the fans have been great, so it doesn't seem that cold.
Q:From [email protected]:
Penny I'm a big fan of yours from the crib. I've seen you play from high
school up to the pros. But my question is why don't you postup more like
you did early in your career. I think it will cause even bigger matchup
problems for opponents and will increase your scoring average and create
more free throw attempts.
A:Thanks for the message. Your game adapts over time and your game can
change. My mindset now is to do whatever coach Wilkens and my teammates
need me to do to win.
Q:From [email protected]:
How has your transition to becoming a Knick been and does it get any easier
the longer you stay in the league?
A:It never gets any easier, but that's what makes the NBA great... the
competition. The transition has been very smooth and I am loving being a
Knick. It is what every NBA player wants... to be able to succeed on the
greatest stage in the game.
Q:From [email protected]:
I just wanted to say I am a huge fan and I have been following your career
since you went to Memphis and from your early orlando days to now. I just
have one question. What are the chances of you bringing Lil' Penny back?
I loved it before, and hopefully playing for the knicks will resurrect your
career and best of luck in the future.
A:Lil Penny was back when we played the Rockets. There is a photo of him in
Knicks gear on NYKnicks.com. I think you will be seeing him again soon.
http://www.nba.com/knicks/gallery/celebs_040108.html
Q:From [email protected]:
I was watching an old clip of you dunking over Patrick Ewing in 1995 on a
one on one fast break in Orlando, do you still have it in you or want to go
above the rim like you did seven or eight years ago? Or have you taken a
different approach by doing the basics?
A:The game changes as you get older and I have had some injuries. However I
am looking forward to helping the Knicks win however I can, and continuing
to improve my game here in New York.
