Unable to win on the road or at home, the Hornets (0-6) and Chicago Bulls (0-4) remain the only winless teams in the NBA going into the third week of the season. The Golden State Warriors lost their first six games but ended their streak Saturday night with a victory against the expansion Charlotte Bobcats. For games this week against the surging Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Hornets are expected to be without starting point guard Baron Davis, who leads the team with a 24.6 scoring average. Davis is expected to be out for seven to 14 days to recover from an inflamed disc in his lower back. But point guard Darrell Armstrong, who will assume Davis' starting spot, believes it's just a matter of time before things begin to turn in the Hornets' favor. "I feel that we can win on the road and at home," Armstrong said. "We're starting to get that feel. We've been only blown out in one game." The blowout came in the season opener when the Dallas Mavericks shot 53.8 percent and cruised to a 106-91 victory at New Orleans Arena. The Hornets have lost twice by one point. In Saturday night's 94-91 loss at Milwaukee, New Orleans had a chance to send the game into overtime but guard David Wesley missed a desperation 3-point attempt with three seconds remaining. Despite the latest setback, Coach Byron Scott was encouraged with the effort. "We still have a lot of work to do," Scott said. "But we're headed in the right direction. I feel we should have a few wins; we played the last five games and been right there. Things are going to change around if we keep improving." Several of the backups still are trying to figure out their roles. At times, forward David West and guard Alex Garcia looked unsure what they were supposed to do in Saturday's game. "Sooner or later, it is going to click in and the guys are going to understand what we are trying to do with the offense," Scott said.
