But a perception remains from his easy way and that he has a low flame. His defined NBA skill, defensive versatility, was on display when he was guarding every position but point guard in his man-to-man assignment, not to mention his ability to switch onto other men. There are still his off-moments, like when he reverts to shooting from above his head or his frustration with a missed shot keeps him from retreating on defense for a moment. "But he has the ability to go to the hole and sometimes the best basketball play is not scoring. Sometimes, it's hard to get guys to understand that." Gentry came out of last season saying he would be disappointed if Clark was not in this season's rotation but the scene changed with Hedo Turkoglu, Hakim Warrick and Gani Lawal being added.
