The deal is expected to be finalized this week. Terms were not available. A 6-10, 245-pound University of South Florida product, Jones averaged 3.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 blocks this past season while playing 11 minutes per game for the Atlanta Hawks. Entering his fourth season in the NBA this fall, Jones, 25, played his first three seasons with the Hawks. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 156 career games, all but eight as a reserve. Jones started one game in the playoffs this past season for the Hawks, who reached the Eastern Conference semifinals. With a 7-4 wingspan, Jones is regarded as an athlete who can take up space and be a defensive presence in the frontcourt. An unknown player out of high school, Jones played two years in junior college before transferring to South Florida. As a senior, he was second in the Big East in blocked shots (3.0) and rebounds (9.8). Jones was the third pick in the second round by Atlanta in the 2006 draft. Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors expect to sign free agent center Rasho Nesterovic, who averaged 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds for the Pacers last season. Nesterovic's agent, Bill Duffy, wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Saturday that the former Pacer has agreed in principle to a one-year, $2 million deal.
