不好意思 借用版面问一个有点蠢的问题。小弟也是第一年当税务居民。
因为我觉得为了申请ITIN而寄原版护照过去Austin实在有点冒险，
而且目前住的地方离Local IRS office蛮远的，
所以打算寄护照影本, F2 visa影本, 跟W7+1040去Austin申请今年的退税。
我仔细读了最新版 W-7 instruction 关於certified copy 的规定:
You can submit copies of original documents if you do any of the
following.
- Have the copies certified by the issuing agency.
- Have the officers at U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas provide
certification and authentication services.
下面一段又更详细的说明:
Certified copies. A certified document is one that the original
issuing agency provides and certifies as an exact copy of the
original document and contains an official stamped seal from the
Agency.
1. 请问各位有经验的大大，是否 护照 & visa 影本 请公证人notarize不行了?
请问这是否代表我只能去经济文化办事处申请护照影本了呢?
2. 请问F2 visa 必须到哪里申请certified copy呢?
3. 请问若我决定寄护照影本，需要再寄额外的文件影本来证明
我太太的foreign status吗?
