Sure, if he was handed the keys like Damian Lillard was last year in Portland, it’s certainly within Oladipo’s capacity to rack up substantial statistics. However, the Magic are not relying on Oladipo or any one specific player to light up the box score on any given night. Considering how much time he is spending in the gym this summer working diligently on his overall repertoire, there is no reason why Harris’ statistics won’t improve even more. Vucevic must develop more strength to evolve into a reliable defender and expand his reputation as an intimidator in the paint. Passive and timorous early, Harkless became more assertive towards the end of last season. It wouldn’t surprise me if Harkless’ statistics jumped the most relative to his teammates. He has been spending countless hours this offseason repairing his jump shot and, as demonstrated during Summer League, is becoming far more aggressive in his approach on both ends of the floor. If Big Baby’s foot is not healed by the start of the season, if Harris proves to be more reliable at the small forward position and if Maxiell doesn ’t adjust right away to his new surroundings than Drew may end up with far more opportunity to step in and play big minutes. If Victor Oladipo spends the majoring of his minutes at point guard and if Maurice Harkless doesn’t become a two-guard experiment, than Afflalo’s value and production will grow even more. Remember, for most of last season, Arron shared minutes with J.J. Redick. Now, there is more ambiguity who will play behind (or ahead) of him at that position. Nevertheless, Nelson will obviously provide supreme leadership, professionalism and accountability like he always has during his outstanding career. It’s been a while since Davis has played full contact basketball and it remains ambiguous if he will be ready for the start of the season. He had a second foot procedure earlier this summer to replace a screw that was inserted during his first surgery. But as shown in the past, Glen is a warrior and the type of competitor that will never surrender and always give 100 percent to help his team win.
