His 10-game, league-imposed suspension for testing positive for an elevated testosterone level has ended. Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy has said that Lewis will start at power forward Monday night against the Charlotte Bobcats. Lewis was in a good mood following the Magic's workout Sunday. He acknowledged that the speed of a regular-season game is different from anything he's seen in practice these last few weeks. As a result, fatigue could become a bit of a factor tonight. "I don't think I'll be nervous," Lewis said. "I think I'm a more calm person than anything. If I miss my first couple of shots, then I'm going to try my best not to force shots. I don't want to disrupt the rhythm of the game." Watching his team lose three games in his absence hurt, but perhaps none of the defeats felt worse than the defeat to Cleveland at Amway Arena last Wednesday. "I feel like those are statement games," he said. "Those are games that everybody's pumped-up about. You want to go out there and show the league that you're a good team. To be a good team, you've got to beat the best teams, and Cleveland's one of those teams." Short-handed again? Jameer Nelson missed his second consecutive day of practice Sunday because he was feeling sick. Van Gundy said Nelson was tested for all kinds of flu and that the test showed the point guard has a bad cold or an upper-respiratory infection. Van Gundy said he thinks Nelson "has a good chance to play" versus the Bobcats. Marcin Gortat might not be so fortunate. The backup center missed practice Sunday because he felt under the weather, and Van Gundy said he doesn't expect Gortat to be available to play Monday. Van Gundy said he doesn't know whether J.J. Redick will play because the shooting guard tweaked his right ankle Saturday. Layups ● PF Brandon Bass, who missed Friday's game and Saturday's practice because he had flu-like symptoms, practiced on Sunday. ● PF Ryan Anderson, who sprained his right ankle on Nov. 6, expects to make his return Monday. "I feel like I'm in good shape," Anderson said. "I feel like I can just come back and start getting in my normal rhythm of playing." ● Lewis said he's been told by Van Gundy that he'll play at small forward on occasion. "I'm fine with that," Lewis said. "The only difference is on the defensive end, chasing guys off screens and guarding the pick-and-roll." ● The Magic spent just 15 minutes Sunday scrimmaging five-on-five because of their reduced manpower, Van Gundy said. "We've been struggling to get stuff accomplished in the last couple of days," the coach said. "You do what you can." ● The team worked on its pick-and-roll defense Sunday. --
