1. RHP Jeremy Guthrie's strained rib cage muscle showed improvement from
Sunday, when he got hurt, but the Orioles still aren't sure if he can pitch
again this season.
2. Baltimore is more optimistic about getting Garrett Olson (strained forearm)
back, but have scratched him from his scheduled start Friday.
3. The Orioles' five-man rotation has only one pitcher from the opening day
rotation,
15-game loser Daniel Cabrera. Newcomers to the rotation are Victor
Santos, who made his Orioles debut Tuesday night, and Victor Zambrano,
obtained from the Pittsburgh Pirates' minor league system last weekend.
