SOME MIGHT PAY ￡20K FOR ASHES AUDI ROCKER Noel Gallagher has been so inspired by Ashes To Ashes he’s desperate for a retro Audi Quattro. The Oasis star is reportedly gagging to get in the driving seat of the 1980s motoring icon. Pals say Noel, 40, has set aside up to ￡20,000 for his 140mph dream supercar. A friend said: “Noel reckons he can get a Quattro in good condition for about ￡10,000 – though he might double that for the right car. “He will want a top-notch stereo system and possibly some body kit too, which won’t be cheap.” Experts claim the Audi is set for an explosion in popularity thanks to Ashes To Ashes, the spin-off from Life On Mars. That show sparked the “Cortina effect” after DCI Gene Hunt, (Philip Glenister, 44) got viewers drooling over the Ford Cortina Mark III. One car dealer said: “Quattros have always been desirable, but this show has catapulted them into the motoring superstar league.” And BBC bosses are celebrating too after Ashes To Ashes pulled in seven million viewers on Thursday.
