In a new interview, Noel Gallagher has delivered his pre-V2005 manifesto, and unsurprisingly, while he may have had bad experiences in the past, he thinks this year might be pretty good, "The day we're on is fantastic," he explains to NME, "Apart from Maroon 5, every band that's on the bill are friends of ours. There's The Stands, Jet, The Zutons, The La's and us on the same stage. So our backstage area will be great. "I've been a few times, and only ever seen one good gig – that was The Coral a few years ago. I'm looking forward to it, it's the only festival we're doing in England this year. I think it could be a good crack." Against popular opinion, Noel confirms he didn't hand-pick the bill entirely ("Well if we did, Maroon 5 wouldn't be on it.") and, while the backstage area may be a haze of cigarette smoke and Northern accents, he's not entirely happy about the infamous V celebrity VIP list, "I am a bit concerned about the kind of crowd we'll get, it's all East Enders extras and fucking D-list celebrities all there for a day out. "You can get 16 people on a tourbus, you can leave at any point, you've got a proper bed, and a fridge, and telly to watch the football. Say no more."
