Most Important: 1. Avoid running the battery through "deep discharge" cycles — that is using it until it's fully depleted to 0 %. Instead, begin recharging it when it reaches, say 2% 当电池电量过低时继续使用电池是会对电池有致命的损害的 2. Li-ion batteries should be kept cool. Some tips and fallacies : 1. Li-ion batteries do not suffer from the memory effect. 锂电池没有记忆效应 简单说何时对电池充电都不会影响他的 FCC (Full Charge Capacity) 2. Unlike NiCad batteries or NiMH batteries, lithium-ion batteries should be charged early and often. 许多人建议让电池用到低电量时再充电是不对的. 这只会增加电池的charge cycle 而已 3. A unique drawback of the Li-ion battery is that its life span is dependent upon aging from time of manufacturing (shelf life) regardless of whether it was charged, and not just on the number of charge/discharge cycles. 也就是说 电池的寿命跟充电次数没有绝对的关系 倒是跟他的年纪有绝对相关 不过锂电池都有最大充电次数的限制(~500) HP 的网页 http://h50178.www5.hp.com/support/DR251A/faqs/54577.html 说明了电池使用的环境对FCC 的影响较充电次数为剧 4.锂电池重覆可充电放电次数的计算方式: from HP website: 每次只用掉10%电池内的电能就将电池再充满电，这样来回10遍才算一次电池寿命的 充放电周期(cycle)。如果每次只用掉20%的电能就将电池再充满电，这样来回5遍才 算一次电池寿命的充放电周期。 所以很多人说... 一插上电就会增加一次充电次数的观念也是不对的... so again charge it "early" and "often" 来自 Apple 的文章 标准保养方式 若要适当保养锂电池，必须偶尔让其中的电子活动。苹果不建议您一直让笔记型电 脑插上电源。比如说，利用火车通勤时使用 iBook，到了办公室再替它充电，这就 是一种理想的使用方式。这可以让电池中的电子保持流动。 5. When using a notebook computer running from fixed line power over extended periods, it is advisable to remove the battery and store it in a cool place. 这项建议主要的考量是长时间使用NB时 电池的温度会升高.. 此时将电池取下对电池较好. 而不是因为电池放在电脑上会一直充电唷! (以 IBM 为例 电池充到100%後就会进入不放电也不充电的状态 直到 < 95% 为止) 6. Note that it is very important not to store your battery at full charge.
