An injury crisis for Bolton saw them only able to name four substitutes
on Saturday as they were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates.
And making his first senior start for the Trotters was former Newcastle
academy player Chris Basham.
20 year-old defender Basham appeared off the bench for the final seconds
of Bolton's victory at the mackems last November, but impressed as he played
the full game on Saturday.

Basham was released by United in 2004, going on to play for Chester-le-
Street youths and studying at Gateshead College. Bolton offered him a trial
in early 2006 and after signing up at the Reebok, he went out on loan to
Stafford Rangers and Rochdale.
