在新年当天踢入逼平曼联的一球的David Edgar签下了新的合约，
这将会使他在这待到2009年。
Talking about his new deal, he told nufc.co.uk:
"I'm delighted to have signed the contract and to have my future at
Newcastle United.
"I guess I'll always remember scoring against Manchester United as the
highlight of the season.
"Now I aim to work hard and push for more chances in the first team next
season."
