常常有新闻说某某球员说差点就加盟新堡之类的说法 诸如 Kezman, Rooney (痾...) 最新一篇报道(from Footymad) 就说到港嘴的中场Pedro Mendes曾多次被新堡看上, 最後都谈不上 还有讲到 Given 对於 Sol 没有加盟新堡觉得很失望 (话说这是嘴炮德太信任巴布人所以没签他) 以下是报导内容 　　Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes claims both Graeme Souness and Sir Bobby Robson tried to sign him for Newcastle. 　　And goalkeeper Shay Given hoped Sol Campbell had moved north rather than south, when he left Arsenal. 　　Mendes: "I know that Newcastle were interested in me at various times.
