But Given's knee was still sore and tender and a scan was taken. But while the keeper is still in some discomfort this was clear. With Steve Harper out for two or three weeks with a hamstring injury, United desperately need Given to be on the bus to Merseyside on Friday afternoon. Significantly, third choice keeper Tony Caig was kept out of last night's Reserve team at West Brom when youngster Adam Bartlett went between the sticks.
