To Larry Brown, every player seems to fall under the category of "special
kid." But Jason Kidd really was just that when, as a 13-year-old, he caught
Brown's attention when he attended the coach's basketball camp at Kansas.
"I've known Jason forever," Brown said yesterday. "He's all the things that
you want in a guard. The way he shares the basketball, runs the break. He
does everything."
对布朗爷来说，每个球员都是很特别的孩子。但Jason Kidd更是其中之一，
当他在十三岁那年参加在堪萨斯的篮球训练营时，就吸引了布朗爷的注意。

Kidd and the Nets visit their favorite venue, Madison Square Garden,
tomorrow, and after a slow start, the point guard and his team are playing at
a high level. Vince Carter's 51 points helped the Nets defeat Miami on Friday
for their fifth straight win.

Kidd has also played a major role in the Nets' revival. Because of his age
(32) and knee problems, Kidd usually needs 20 games to play his way back into
shape, which means Stephon Marbury and the Knicks are catching the Nets at a
bad time.

"He's not like he was when he came into the league, where every night he was
potentially getting a triple-double," Brown said. "But he's still as good as
any player in our league. They have a phenomenal point guard. That guy makes
everybody better."

Brown is concerned that his team, which has been exploited by quick perimeter
teams, could be in for a long night against Kidd, Carter and Richard
Jefferson. Brown has a history with them because all three played for the
Olympic qualifying team in 2003. The following year, however, Kidd removed
himself from the Olympic team because of a knee injury, while Carter took the
summer off to get married. With Kidd no longer available, that cleared a
roster spot for Marbury.
在对抗Kidd 、VC和Jefferson所组成的快速部队时，那个晚上大家都觉得
布朗爷的球队会很难过。布朗爷曾经在2003年的奥运代表队和这三位球员共事过。
隔年，Kidd就因膝伤退出代表队，然後Carter也放暑假结婚去了。当没有Kidd可以用

"Those three guys together are pretty special," Brown said. "They were
expected to be on the Olympic team. So you could imagine how good (the U.S.
team could have been).
"这三个家伙在一起的时候实在是蛮特别的"，布朗说，"大家都希望他们加入
代表队，所以你真的无法想像那会有多屌！(可能是美国队前所未有的屌)"
"If you look at our struggles, it's when people have had perimeter players
like that. When we've had tough perimeter matchups it's been a real struggle
for us."

对上他们的时候，真是有够难搞的啊！"
