The Nationals placed Wilson Ramos on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a
torn ACL in his right knee and called up catcher Sandy Leon from Double-A
Harrisburg to fill his spot on the active roster.
Ramos, who will likely be sidelined for the remainder of the season, injured
his knee while chasing a passed ball in the seventh inning at Great American
Ball Park on Saturday night. He attempted to plant and pick up the ball, then
dropped to the field in pain.
"His cleat caught when he went for the ball, and he twisted his knee,"
Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Saturday. "His knee kind of buckled. He
was in a lot of pain. I've got a bad feeling he tore something, but we'll
just keep our fingers crossed."
