No reason was given as to why the left-hander passed on Washington. Published reports have indicated that Lee will decide on his baseball home sometime this week. The Yankees and Rangers are the top candidates to acquire his services. The news about Lee passing on the Nationals doesn't come as a surprise, because general manager Mike Rizzo said all along that his club was a long shot to acquire Lee, while another source said they were not going to give Lee a seven-year contract. Early last week it appeared that the Nationals had a chance to sign Lee after they signed free-agent outfielder Jayson Werth to a seven-year, $126 million contract. One source confirmed a Washington Post report that says it helped that Werth and Lee are friends, having been teammates with the Phillies in 2009. But the chances of Lee coming to Washington dwindled after reports came out that the left-hander was offered a seven-year deal by the Yankees. With Lee out of the picture, the Nationals are still searching for starting pitching. Look for them to try to acquire a pitcher such as Rays right-hander Matt Garza. Washington would love to have right-handed ace Zack Greinke, but the Royals feel the Nats aren't a good trade match. Kansas City wants starting pitching, a right-handed-hitting outfielder and an infielder -- most opposing teams want shortstop Ian Desmond and right-hander Jordan Zimmermann. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 唉....没签下也好。 虽然我们的确很缺ACE，不过要绑 Lee 直到39岁心里还是会毛毛的。 更何况我们已经有 Werth 这张肥约了。 假设真的成功签下 Lee 的话短期内首府球迷可能会 high 翻天了吧...... 不过稍微想一想，等 Werth 以及 Lee 的合约走到第5年之後， 这两位的成绩也差不多要开始衰退了(或许可能更早?)， 同时我们一年还必须支付给40M左右的薪水给这两位老人。 这样别说是补强，弄得不好就算是开始拍卖自家球员也不怎麽令人意外...... 当然这些都只是我个人的看法， 也许 Lee 本身天生神力，可以跟巨怪或是疯狗一样持续威到40岁也说不一定...... 反正现在补强方面也没有更进一步的消息，乾脆大家来讨论下一步该怎麽走好了...... 究竟是要掏空农场跟皇家或光芒交易来 Zack Greinke 或是 Matt Garza？ 亦或是在大家心目中有比这两位更适合的交易人选？ 又如果你反对把 Zimmermann、Desmond、Espinosa 以及 Norris 交易出去， 坚持从目前市场上现有的FA人选找人来填补轮值的话你觉得该选谁会比较好？ 是跟 Carl Pavano 签下一纸两年甚至三年的复数年合约？ 还是砸 5M～10M/Y 去赌 Brandon Webb 会复活的可能？ 又或是其他人例如 Jeff Francis、Kevin Millwood、Jeremy Bonderman、Justin Duchscherer...等等？ 再不然，乾脆就放弃掉2011直接拼2012年， 明年就用 Zimmermann、Lannan、Livo、Marquis 以及 Maya 这五人轮值去拼拼看？ (说到 Maya 就顺便提一下他最近在多明尼加冬联的表现：6场先发投了32局，4胜1败， ERA 0.56，被敲17支安打，被打击率.160，33次三振以及7次保送。以这样的成绩应该 可以期待一下他明年能够站稳第五号先发。) 以上，欢迎大家踊跃讨论:) --
