Jason Marquis out for six weeks The Nationals learned today that starting pitcher Jason Marquis will miss six weeks with "loose bodies and inflammation" in right elbow, a diagnosis confirmed today by a second opinion from physician Tim Kremcheck in Cincinnati. Marquis received a cortisone shot and will resume throwing in seven to 10 days. Marquis, who went 0-3 with a 20.52 ERA in his first three starts with the Nationals, is scheduled to return at about the same time as Chien-Mien Wang, the Nationals' other starting pitcher signed through free agency this past offseason, is scheduled to begin pitching again after recovering from his own injury. Frankly, I was surprised, too.
