Chien-Ming Wang walked the leadoff hitter in the first two innings for the
first time in his career. He is now 33-4 when he works at least seven
innings. ... Joe Girardi said he expected Kei Igawa to make at least two
starts, the first coming Friday in Detroit. Girardi was encouraged by Ian
Kennedy’s strong start for Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, but
is not ready to bring him back. “The other guys are getting their
opportunities,” Girardi said. “We need to see consistency. He’ll get there.
”
