Finally, a use for Carl Pavano
I should have done this before. But spurred on by many e-mails and seeing
that Amalie Benjamin educated her readers over on Boston.com, here is the
deal on postseason eligibility:
The 25 players on the roster as of midnight on Aug. 31 are eligible along
with any players who were on the 15-day or 60-day disabled list.
8/31日25人名单和15天及60天DL上的人都是季後赛可用球员.
As of that date, the Yankees had four players on the disabled list. Doug
Mientkiewicz, Carl Pavano and Jose Veras were on the 60 and Ron Villone was
on the 15.
8/31洋基有四位在DL:Mientkiewiz,Pavano, 和Veras在60天DL.
Villone在15天DL.
So the Yankees have a 29-player pool they can choose from for the postseason.
But they can replace Pavano (who is still on the DL) with any player who was
in their organization as of Aug. 31.
所以洋基可以用29名球员.
因为痛痛人还在DL, 所以可以用8/31在洋基的其中一位选手来替代痛痛人.
That means Ian Kennedy, if they want.
如果他们要的话, 可以用Ian Kennedy.
