Doug Mientkiewicz went 3-for-3 with five RBIs in his third rehab game as host Tampa routed Lakeland, 12-2, on Thursday. Mientkiewicz, who has been on the disabled list since June 3 after suffering a concussion, cervical sprain and fractured right wrist during a collision, stroked a run-scoring double and scored in the first inning. He walked in the second and hit a two-RBI double to cap a five-run third. The 33-year-old first baseman lined a two-run single in the fifth before being replaced by pinch-runner Christopher Kunda. Christopher Malec went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI for the Yankees (36-25). Marcos Vechionacci had a triple and an RBI, Edwar Gonzalez drove in two runs and Andres Perez and Tim Battle plated a run apiece. Tampa starter Anthony Claggett (8-8) won his seventh straight decision after giving up a run on four hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings. John Axford allowed an unearned run on one hit and three walks with five strikeouts over three frames for his first save. Justin Justice lifted a sacrifice fly in the first and Deik Scram walked and scored on a passed ball by Ben Blumenthal in the eighth for the Flying Tigers (21-38), who have dropped five straight and 13 of their last 14. Starter Kevin Ardoin (0-1) surrendered five runs on five hits and three walks while fanning two over two innings in his third appearance for Lakeland.
