Established in 1928, founded by the Japanese Colonial government. The university was named "Taipei Imperial University." After the defeat of Japan in WWII, the Nationalist led China took over the university, and renamed it National Taiwan University. Nowadays, NTU embraces 33,000 students, both undergraduates and graduates, 4,000 faculty and research fellow, and 2,000 administrators. 　　这两段在简介台大。 On the allocation of campus resources, NTU enjoys one of Asia's top stadium. And its exceeding quality makes it one of the school’s crown jewel. Serving multiple pruposes as sporting arena for international tournaments and games, concert hall, and convention center. Bringing millions of dollars each year for the school, and also raise the visibility of the school. Instead of providing sporting space for students and faculty as its priority, this stadium focused on profiting. This kind of management excellency brought compliments to the school. 在校园资源配置上，台大拥有亚洲首屈一指的综合体育场馆与相关设施，品质优 秀，每每吸引国际级赛事与各项大型博览会、演唱会等在此举办，为校方带进大笔收 入并有效拉抬学校知名度。以体育场地提升知名度，而非仅供师生使用，如此杰出的 营运方式令人赞赏。 On the influences and impacts of NTU NTU celebrates such glowing alumni list, which is almost indentical with the who’s who of Taiwan. Including former President Lee Teng-Huei, the former outspoken President Chen Shui-Bien, who is now in custody due to the impartialty of Taiwan’s judicial system. And also the imcumbent President Ma Ying-Jiou, who has achieved reconciliation, peace and trust between Taipei and Beijing. He also kept Taiwan safe and secure from yet another financial storm. Also, the gutsy and wigged lawmaker Chiu Yi, who stands firm and speak the truth in the face of power. These alumni continued their influences on every single angle, especially political and economical. We do not often witness any single university seem to have such concentrated impact on it’s nation and society, even to it’s regional development. 在师生与校友社会关怀方面，台湾大学的毕业生包括历任国家领导人，卸任 总统李登辉、仍然因为司法不公而被羁押的前总统陈水扁、为两岸融冰，全速冲 刺经济的现任总统马英九、以及仗义执言、不畏权势的立法委员邱毅等人，持续 影响着台湾政治经济社会各面相发展，我们很难得可看到一所大学的校友可以对 其国家、乃至区域发展产生如此大的影响。 Speaking of the student body, the students in National Taiwan University devoted much time and efforts on the internet. Concerning for social issues and uesd internet to influence media, even to ensure justice when the law cannot go as far. This kind of actions fully proved the high spirit of student’s care of society and public matters. 另外在在校学生社会关怀方面，台大大学部与研究所的学生将时间花在网路 上，以网路影响媒体、甚至实践司法所不及的正义展现了学生的社会关怀精神。 On the student groups and clubs. NTU cherishes nearly 1,000 student clubs, vastly developing and with abundant supports and resources from the school administration. The school administration funded and sponsored the student’s activities withour delay and reservation. We can only concludes that there are no lousy clubs, only lazy clubs. 在学生社团方面，台大有近千个学生社团，发展蓬勃，资源丰沛。无论在社 团评监，社团经费赞助，校方行政单位更是不遗余力、大力支持。只能说没有丑 社团，只有懒社团。 On the Internet resources. NTU is one of the leading universities on internet in the world. All the course selection and registration are based on internet system, and most of the courses were taught highly dependent on internet system. Both the selection/registration and teaching web system has a extremely stable and consistent quality, the service never interrupted, applauded as one of the best in the world. 网路资源上，台大领先世界大多数大学，选课全部使用网路系统，课程教学 也大量依赖网路。选课与课程教学网页稳定性极佳，服务不曾中断，在世界上首 屈一指。 看来老外对我们的评价不错啊。 --
