Resplendent Glory （若有时间的话） Invictus是一个拉丁字，翻译就是这首曲子的副标题The Unconquered 英国的诗人William Ernest Henley在1875年用这个字当标题，写了关於Invictus的诗 这位诗人当初是得到结核性骨症 医生建议已经失去一只脚的他，再把另一只腿也截去，控制病情而他不愿意， 而这首诗就是在他躺在病榻上时写的 Invictus(Unconquered) Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of Circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of Chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find me, unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. 夜幕低垂将我笼罩 宛若陷入漆黑地窖 我感谢万能的众神 赐与我不败的心灵 即使环境险恶危急 我未曾退缩或哭嚎 处於机运的胁迫下 血流满面仍未屈服 超越这般悲愤交集 恐怖阴霾逐步逼近 常年威胁挥之不去 我终究是 无所畏惧 纵然通道无比险挟 尽管严惩绵延不尽 我是我命运的主人 我是我心灵的统帅 有另一部电影也以这个字Invictus为其电影的标题 就是由摩根费里曼和麦特戴蒙演的打不倒的勇者 也是一部和勇气、团结、凝聚相关的电影 希望这些资讯对於大家可以比较容易想像这首曲子的含义 或许Philip Sparke本人可能在写曲子时不一定是照着诗来作曲 但是中心的思想还是来自这个字的根源 一种坚忍不拔以及不服输的气度 --
