Hello, to those who don't know me, I'm Tina :) 我观摩过 2003到今年的 Spring and Fall Conventions 我真的得说 今年的主办单位 Division E 实在办得很... 让人不舒服 （所以明年换我们 Division C & Division A 办了 我们一定要想得周到点 不要让人说闲话 ^^ 办个轰轰烈烈的!!） 我想一个有水准的 convention 到底该如何办 嗯嗯 参加过两三次以上的人 都知道 况且 今年刚上任的 Division C Governor Marian Hsiao 更是清楚 所以不在此多说 (毕竟我也还是个菜鸟 ^^") 我只想针对 ckal 所说的 "Jack讲得很棒 但是得奖者的争议性很大" 发言 Yes, I absolutely agree: Master11, you are amazing! You've improved immensely since the Division C contest; the performance, excellent the humor, wow --> 绝对被你修饰得更是好笑了!! and I did notice you taking away some of the content that did not receive big audience response during your previous trials --> that shows amazing observation, not something everyone knows how to do! (这, 我觉得 才是最值得恭喜你的地方 ^Q^) 争议性呢... what does this actually mean? 我是觉得啊 客观的争议性 happens when... 1. all judges have scored all speakers WITHOUT bias 2. all speakers have put on the same level of performance 常常比赛到如 Fall/Spring Conventions 的 levels 时 大家的实力都是相当的 此时到底谁会是 the ultimate Champion 则很难判定 因为每个 judges 会有特别喜好的 表演模式 或 演讲内容 这不能说是 judges 不公 而只能说 judges 本身在评论每个人的演讲时 就是用他那一套逻辑去评论的 (所以既然是大家都用同一套 就不会是 biased; because he/she is grading everyone on the same baseline) 在这种情况下 会脱颖而出的一定就是那位一讲完後 全场人只能说 "Wow. 冠军非他莫属." 我记得去年的 Fall Convention, Ed Tate (1999 World Champion) 说过一句话 如果要参赛 则 do it so well that you leave the judges and the audience thinking "Who's second place?" 到了全国赛的 level, 已经没有所谓的 good speech/bad speech; only WINNING SPEECH. Every prepared speech contestant gave their best. You are all GREAT! And now you know what the audience expect, what the judges expect, and next year, not only will you continue to be great but also the champion! rjgirl is right: 没参加 2005 Spring Convention 的人 的确 missed out a lot 但是 错过 周六的场次 相对之下 没 missed out on too much 哈哈~ 1. prepared speech contest 竞争非常激烈 台下的人看的叫好 ^Q^ 更是没参赛者的最佳观摩对象 :) 2. Division E 办不好的地方 Division A & C 应该看在眼里 2005 FallCon 时 let's show them what is a PROFESSIONALLY prepared convention ^Q^ --
