after 3/29's seminar i have some feeling and suggestion: 1) the number of the turnout was less than the number of the advertisement posters. Among the attendees, three were my friends, the rest were our members. this means that no other students attended the speech, or that the weather is an important factor affecting students' decision. No matter how good a speaker is, student's attendence depends on the weather. 2) i suggest we should change the name of the activity "seminar" to "speech" becasue it is obviously a speech with an invited speaker. A seminar is a formal meeting with more than one speakers. Mostly in a seminar speakers and audences are peers. The focus in a seminar is the interaction between speakers and audiences. almost every college department set seminar as a required course for graduate students. So a seminar is not always welcome because your body should be there even though your mind is somewhere else. A "speech" will sound more friendly than a "seminar." So please dear EVP team and president Cherry, think about a change next term. Luen --
