【English Proficiency】
All Summer School courses, except those in the Institute for English Language
Programs (IEL), require proficiency in the English language. Ordinarily,
students who have a TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test or 250 on the
computer-based test or who have studied a minimum of four years in a school
where English is the sole means of instruction may assume that their
proficiency is adequate. Students who do not have the English proficiency
required for a course may be required to withdraw from the course and may be
referred to an IEL course or other Summer School course that is appropriate
to their proficiency level. Students who are uncertain about their level of
English language proficiency should take the Harvard University English
Language Placement Test.

除了英语中心的课程之外，所有暑期的课程皆需要有熟练的英文程度。一般来说，只要
学生有托福600分(纸本测验)或250分(电脑测验)，或是就读於至少四年以英文教学的
学校，就会被认为具有足够的英文能力。一个没有相称於该课程之英文能力的学生，
可能会被退选，而另选英语中心或暑期班之其他适合其英语程度的课程。如果你不知道
