Borthwick, 1813-1897）将这首圣诗自德文译成英文。 　 　　本圣诗曲调，取自被誉为「芬兰国宝」，着名的作曲家西贝流士（Jean Sibelius, 1865-1957）在1899年所作的交响乐「芬兰颂」（Finlandia）的主题。 西贝流士是说瑞 典语的芬兰人，父亲是外科医生。 他幼年在俄军占领下生活，自幼他酷爱音乐，五岁学 钢琴，十四岁学提琴，後赴柏林及维也纳，随名师学习音乐。 他在1893年回国执教，被 强烈的国家意识所感动，因此他的作品中洋溢着爱国情操，充满了民族音乐的色彩。1917 年芬兰正式独立，「芬兰颂」在推动独立革命运动中，起了重要的作用。 -- 英文歌词 1.
