Dear Students interested in Intro Psych taught by Professor Woodward,
I have consulted with our Teaching Assistant, Chun-Hui, and we decided on the
following for additional enrollments this semester. This is the way we
thought we could be most fair to all students.
1)We will allow 5 more students to enroll in the course. These 5 students
will be selected randomly after the Wednesday class.
2)The names and email addresses of interested students should be written on a
sign-up sheet on my office door (S 211) before the Wednesday class (September
17) at 1:20 pm. We also will pass around the sheet in class on the Wed the
17th to collect the names of additional students who want a chance to enroll.
3)After the random selection, we will notify the selected students by email.
If you have not received an email by Thursday morning (September 18), this
means that you were not randomly selected.
4)We will not be able to enroll any students after this because our first
chapter assignment and quiz will be completed by October 1.

Reasons for the decision.
We want to be fair to all students who want to enroll, and give each student
the same chance of being chosen. We realize that some students are required
to take Intro Psych, but we have no way to decide which among all the
students are the most deserving. We also do not want to wait until the end of
September to find out how many students will drop the course because this
will occur after our first Chapter and its quiz. Every indication is that few
currently enrolled students plan to drop the course.
I hope to remain at NTU for next year and if I do, I plan to offer the course
in both the first and second semesters. If you are not able to take it this
semester, I hope to see you next time.
