(b) How much voltage is needed in order to accelerate an α-particle (He 2+), to the same wavelength? (4%) 5. It requires 186 KJ/mol to eject electrons from sodinm metal. (a) What is the minimum frequency of light necessary to emit electrons from sodium via the photoelectric effect? (3%) (b) If sodium is irradiated with light of 330 nm, what is the maximum velocity of the emitted electron? (3%) 6. What is the maximum of electrons that can have the following quantum numbers: (5%) (a) n=3, l=1 (b) n=4, l=3, ml=2 (c) n=2, l=2, ml=-1 (d) n=3, l=2, ml=2 (e) n=5, l=0, ml=-1, ms=1/2 7. Estimate the standard enthalpy of the following reactions. (10%) (a) H2C=CH2 + H2 → CH3-CH3 (b) NO + 1/2 NO2 → NO2 (c) standard enthalpy of formation of HNO2.
