试题 :
Problem 1
There are typical heuristic rules for the separation sequencing:
Remove the hazard and corrosive component early.
Do the most difficult separation last.
Favor direct sequence. (Remove the lightest component one by one)
Remove the component with large fraction first.
Prefer separation that gives 50-50 split.
A company injected CO2 into an oil well in order to enhance oil recovery.The
gas coming out of the reservoir had the following compositions (mole fraction):
Component Composition
H2S 0.6
CO2 90.5
Methane 5.5
Ethane(C2) 1.4
Heavies(C4+) 2.0
Note that CO2 and ethane formed an azeotrope. This azeotrope could be handled
by adding heavy C4+ solvent.
According to the heuristic rules, sketch a process flow diagram to (1) obtain
the methane fuel, (2) recycle CO2, (3) recover liquefied natural gas which was
C4+.
Problem 2
(1) What is the meaning of FOB HONG KONG?
(2) The FOB purchase cost for a heat exchanger is calculated by:
Cp(in US dollars)= FpFmFlCb
where Fm is the material factor, determined by:
Fm= a+(A/100)^b, A is the surface area in ft^2
(a=2.7, b=0.07 for stainless steel)
Fl is the tube length correction factor
(Fl=1.0 for a tube length of 20 feet)
Fp is the pressure factor, calculated by,
Fp=0.9803+0.018*(P/100)+0.017+(P/100)^2
P is the shell side pressure in psig
Cb is the base FOB purchase cost (in US dollars).
For a floating heat exchanger, it is calculated by,
Cb=exp(11.667-0.8709*ln(A)+0.09005*ln(A)^2) (based on CE cost index of 394)
For a floatiog heat exchanger of A = 7000ft^2, design shell side pressure
of 800 psi, and tube length of 20 ft, what is the FOB purchase cost
(at the cost index of 550)?
