Abstract
Screening for cancer risk in patients remains challenge even with
radiographic and physical examinations. No reliable molecular screening tools
are currently available that can identify the patients at high risk for
cancer development or local recurrence. In this talk, I will describe a
statistical outlier approach to identify high-risk normal tissues which while
their pheno type looks like normal tissue, but their molecular signatures
tend to have tumor-like gene profile. Simulation has yielded promising
results. The approach is also successfully applied to a breast cancer data.
